Richard
A poem
Alternative facts. Deep fakes. Artificial intelligence. True religion. What is real? What is true? Did it happen? Which revelation is the correct one? What do you believe, and why? Is it belief, or suspension of disbelief? Faith, or gambling?
The titular character of today’s poem, Richard, is an arbitrary stand-in for anything that would gain entry by aggressively asserting itself as truth. The images were created by Chris Sansenbach, via Midjourney — skillfully and specifically prompted to illustrate this poem.
Richard Richard is a rattlesnake a rattlesnake Jesus on a pony, a pony dressed in lightning lightning at the door at the door a luciferous origami of paper folded into shapes of light shards of illusion.
