The Last Tree

This last post of the year 2023, on the last day of the year, features a piece of art called The Last Tree. This piece began with a stock photograph that was in a frame found at a thrift store. It begged for a brush and some paint. Brush in hand, I thought about Robert Frost.

Fire and Ice
Robert Frost, 1874 – 1963

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
